I have purchased several Shiatsu massagers so I expected and wanted the perfect deep tissue massage this product delivers to my scapula and neck area. As others have stated in previous ratings, you cannot control the intensity of the massager. I am not sure why its designers thought we needed the button to change the direction the balls are rolling… the massager does it automatically several times during the timed massage My low rating is based mainly on its design. What’s up with the one size fits no one arm flappy things! I was disappointed to find them too short to put my arms in and leave there COMFORTABLY as you use this massager. The weight of your arms actually pulls down on the neck causing more discomfort than relaxation. I expected their construction to be of soft pliable fabric not rigid cold vinyl! The other thing is… where are the controls?.?. oh there they are way up by my shoulder. I feel sorry for anyone trying to use this massager who has a painful, stiff neck!! To see the controls you to be able to turn your neck a full 90+ degrees or just stop being massaged in order to sit up and literally pull and twist the floppy arm thingy toward you. I guess they put two silver studs by the controls to help you find them by feel. But why didn’t they just place them down lower on these useless floppy arm things?? I see the owners manual shows how you can use it on different areas of the body…they didn’t even add Velcro to the arm things so that I might secure it like a belt and hold it in place . Just an overall dumb design.
