Nice sizes but washed horribly

I had really high hopes for these towels. I bought two sets. One for a college kid’s gift box and one for my guest bathroom. That is how high my hopes were! I washed one set and I am surprised any fiber is left on the towels themselves. So much fiber and fluff was in my water. I washed in cold water on gentle cycle. After the dryer, the band on the bath towel shrank. The lint filter in my dryer was full! I cleaned it right before putting this set of towels in. The worst part was a navy blue cotton night gown was accidentally in the washer with these towels. That gown is COVERED in fibers and lint. I don’t even know if a lint brush will recover it. I am giving these towel sets to our local animal shelter. I will get two sets elsewhere.
