It’s accurate for humans, but it is inaccurate for animals which I’m disappointed in since I have three cats! I bought this item for myself because I suffer from low body temperature unfortunately and it makes life very uncomfortable and I also have fevers from time to time as we all do, however I also bought it for measuring my cats temperature and it doesn’t do that at all. It’s always the same temperature which for humans would be OK but definitely not for cats because their temperature should be somewhere between 101 & 102 degrees which this never measures the temperature correctly at all! So I am somewhat disappointed, but for myself, this works well; so for humans it works great, and Animals not at all, which makes no sense to me at all and is extremely disappointing!
