Ear's To You
Apple AirPods. They look cool. Even the most contrarian new wave hipsters would begrudgingly admit as much. Their simplicity, their understated design, not to mention the basic strangeness of their name–they’re not buds, not headphones, but ‘pods’–lend them a certain coolness.
In fact, they look so cool that it’s possible you’ve visited the Apple Store thinking maybe you should buy a pair. And that’s when you see the part of them that’s not so cool at all: their price.
Like… seriously? We’ve ridden in cars that cost that much money!
So what do you do? You could just suck it up and shell out. Or you could buy these Air Buds. No, there’s no tie-in to the famed film franchise that shed light on the athletic abilities of one golden retriever. They’re just truly wireless ear buds that look a lot like AirPods with a price tag that looks a lot less like a significant percentage of your rent.
And if someone asks, are those AirPods? You can just say, Air? Yes, yes, these are the Air kind.
