Good Headphones at a Great Price
Brand recognition is a real thing. Whether we realize we’re doing it or not, we associate brands we’ve heard of with quality while looking down on those that lack name recognition.
Sometimes, this is helpful. For example, despite the lower price tag, that cable at the gas station checkout counter from a company called something like “DigiMericaPro” is probably not going to last as long as something from a manufacturer with real clout.
But there are other times when brand recognition can hold you back. Such as in the case of these Aukey headphones.
Here are the facts: these things work great, sound good, feature excellent noise cancellation, and are really well-reviewed. And yet, because they’re not from one of the “names in the industry,” the big retailer selling them got it in their head that no one wanted them.
