Time To Getaway
As nice as it sounds, you don’t need a week or 10 days for a great vacation. Oftentimes, a weekend away is all you need. Don’t overthink it—choose a nearby destination you can drive to in just a few hours, but one that still offers a change of scenery (and hopefully a few good restaurants and a day spa). Pack light, because you really don’t need much for a couple of nights.
Of course, you’ll need your basic toiletries, medicine, and necessary gadgets and their cords, plus 3 days’ worth of undergarments, 2-3 outfits to match your activities, along with a jacket or swimsuit, depending on the season. If you can get away with it, try to coordinate your outfits around 1 pair of shoes, but 2 pairs is reasonable. You’ll be tempted to bring more of everything “just in case,” but don’t overdo it.
The key to all of this is having the perfect bag, Like this gorgeous Canvas Weekender Bag by Adrienne Vattadini. It’s bigger than a gym duffel but smaller than a suitcase, lightweight and easy to carry. It perfectly holds everything you need for a fun weekend away without being bulky, plus the patterns are stylish and chic.
