Requirements

Pivot Cloud requires a password-protected 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection with WPA/WPA2 encryption
It can be set up and controlled through the Zmodo smartphone app (available for iOS 9.0 and up and Android 4.0 and up)
Software update can be found in Zmodo App Settings - this update will allow you to connect to 2.4GHz and 5Ghz routers as well as adding Google Assistant functionality

Security is Our Priority

Zmodo apps and devices connect to the U.S.-based Zmodo servers using bank-level AES 256-bit encryption and Transport Layer Security (TLS)
All video and pictures are secured with AES 256-bit symmetric-key encryption, so nobody but you is able to access your footage

Customer Service and product does not connect to 5ghz

I purchased the Zmodo Pivot Cloud camera, a real disappointment. It may not be compatible with 5ghz. However, it states to contact customer service for help. Assuming they may have a solution or a work-around, I called only to learn they are only open on week days, I received my product on Saturday. If you need immediate help you can contact customer service through Live Chat 24/7. Good luck with that, never happened, they never came online.
