Lighten Up
I’m not big on fad diets, but after spending the last 2 years in near-constant crisis mode and stress-eating to my heart’s content, my clothes were suddenly all too tight. I knew I needed to do something, so I decided to give a psychology-based diet app a try. One of my first alerts was to weigh in, and then it informed me I would need to weigh in every day—first thing in the morning, no excuses. Hold up, what?! I didn’t even own a scale.
Weighing in every day isn’t for everyone, but if you are trying to shed pounds, it really can help. My best advice is to get a slim, lightweight scale you can keep handy. This is the one is barely noticeable in my bathroom or bedroom and is always accurate. I’m proud to admit after a year on the program, I hit my target weight and now allow myself weekly weigh-ins. Eventually, I might even go to monthly, but for now a little accountability doesn’t hurt.
