Keep It Simple
It’s funny how long it can take to simplify something down to what actually works best. For decades, we’ve been using regular blenders to make smoothies and puree soups—and dealing with the spills and drips and extra dishes that come with them. Sure, they got the job done, but maybe not in the way that makes the most sense.
Luckily, some kitchen appliance genius had a much-needed lightbulb moment and realized that you can blend things in the container they’re in rather than transferring them into a blender jar and then back into another container, with all the accompanying hard-to-clean messes.
It’s been a great development for our kitchens, but it feels kind of backwards, right? You’d think things would start small, then get complex. But it takes time to figure out a simple idea that works as well as this hand blender.
