Sheet's Gonna Go Down Tonight
We got an advanced screener of the series finale and man, the moment when the one character breaks into song, singing, “My cold dark heart, it groans and groans/for love is merely a game of thrones,” is absolutely fantastic!
Just kidding. We don’t know what’s going to happen. In the show, at least. We do know what’s going to happen after the show. No, we don’t mean Barry. We mean the existential crisis of losing a longstanding Sunday night staple.
First, we’ll celebrate. Not that the show is over, but that it provided us with such a fun and exciting journey. One great way to pay tribute: by heading over to Mediocritee and buying a shirt from our Houses of Justice series. (Be sure to move fast; these things disappear tomorrow at 10am central).
Second, we’ll start the process of moving on. And what better way to do so than by buying yourself a new set of sheets?
Because think about it: just changing the sheets is enough to give you a whole new attitude. When the pilling, itchy ones you’ve been sleeping in for the past couple weeks go in the hamper and a new clean set comes out? It’s like rediscovering what the word ‘comfort’ truly means.
And a brand friggin’ new set is a whole level above that! It’s as if you’ve opened a new chapter of your life. You lay down on something so crisp and starchy as a fresh-out-of-the-packaging sheet, and it’s like, was everything before this a dream? Have I graduated to a new rung of adulthood? Is this when I stop feeling like a teenager who’s snuck into the real world and start feeling like I imagined grownups felt when I watched movies about Wall Street as a kid?
Okay, maybe we’re overstating it. And maybe there are more productive ways to move on from your favorite show than fresh sheets. But you know what? We’re not selling those ways today.
So buy some sheets.
