Relief Pod Orange Roadside Emergency Kit

Do you own jumper cables?

If not, this roadside emergency kit is a great way to get them (and a dozen or so other pieces of automotive paraphernalia). Other, cheaper emergency kits lack jumper cables, which is sort of like building an entire survival bunker and forgetting the food. If you’re in a roadside emergency, chances are pretty good you need jumper cables.

If so, you probably don’t need another pair for yourself, but you could buy them for someone in your life who doesn’t have any. Someone whose well-being you care for even a little. You’ll eventually become their hero.

We say “eventually" because they probably won’t consider you their hero the moment they open their “gift” and see a bunch of jumper cables. In fact, they might make deride you and your utilitarian offering.

“Um, thanks Uncle Andrew. I always wanted to, y’know, like, jump start my car.”

No, they won’t immediately comprehend the love and thoughtfulness of your gift. Theirs will be a delayed appreciation. For, some day, they’ll find themselves stranded in the Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot at 1am. They’ll fret. They’ll regret not using the bathroom before they left.

And then they’ll remember your gift.

“Uncle Andrew’s jumper cables!” They’ll exclaim (unless by some off chance you’re both and uncle and a responsible car owner but your name is not “Andrew”). They’ll jump their car. They’ll get home and use the bathroom. And they’ll be filled with gratitude for your present — the best they ever received.

That said, you should probably buy some dumb, fun gift to go along with your roadside emergency kit. For some reason people prefer dumb gifts to useful ones. Keep an eye out on Meh in the coming weeks for the perfect choice – we sell cheap, useless things all the time.

Failing that you could just pull the glowsticks out and pretend they’re a separate, fun gift. Kids these days are pretty dim.

Features

  • A roadside emergency kit with jumper cables for the price of one without jumper cables
  • It also includes a crank flashlight, first aid kit, and (presumably) 60 total items, which we’ve challenged @moose to identify in the specs
  • They might be counting each tissue as a separate item, an act so brazen we can’t help but applaud it
  • It looks a lot nicer and is more neatly organized than most – who says emergencies have to be ugly and chaotic
  • Model: RP122-107K-820 (Based on the manufacturer’s website, we high doubt they required this level of specificity after “RP-122”)
