Robot vacuums are great. If you have hardwood or low-pile carpet, at least.
I recently moved, and this place is pretty much all hardwood floors, except for various rugs we brought along. In the past, we had the usual manual vacuum, and every few weeks we brought that out and cleaned up a little. If we remembered. And had the time.
After the move, though, we decided to try something different. And it’s been fantastic.
With a robot vacuum, we don’t have to rely on one of us having the time, energy, and memory to pull out a vacuum every so often. We just set a schedule so that it rolls out every couple days, and it’s done well so far. The only ones in the household having any problems with it are the cats, but they’re slowly getting used to it. It’s not like they loved the old vacuum either. So unfortunately, it doesn’t seem likely that they’ll be riding it anytime soon, but there’s always hope.
