Stop and Smell the Roses
Stop. At home? In your office? Just stop for a second, and breathe.
It sounds silly, but a lot of us need to be told this every so often. Sometimes when you’re tense or anxious, you stop breathing naturally, and fixing your breathing can help calm you down.
Now, something else that might seem silly: as you are taking your breaths, take note of the smell of the air around you. Ask yourself if you’re happy with that smell.
If you’re not, why put up with it? Seriously, if you can’t think of any logical reason you should just deal with that smell, you shouldn’t. To some degree it’s probably even contributing to whatever tension or anxiety you are feeling in this place.
When it comes to making a place calm and pleasant, there’s no beating essential oils. Whether they’re used on your skin or put through a diffuser, they’ll both uplift your mood and bring your body back down to a relaxed state.
Give yourself the peace, tranquility, and good smells you deserve! And if you don’t have the diffuser to do it, never fear, we’ve got you.
